Cliff Viessman, Inc. (CVI) has grown over the years to include 10 terminals and a Corporate Office.  These locations are spread out among 6 states.  Please refer back to the home page for terminal locations.

CVI also has many different divisions running in different areas of the country.  The majority of CVI’s terminals are in the Midwest, but current growth has helped expand operations to other parts of the country.  Even with the terminals located in the Midwest, drivers still have the ability to cross the entire United States.

Tanker

CVI hauls a variety of tanker products, most of which are food grade.  CVI's primary commodities are Liquid Corn Sweetener, Liquid Sugar, Food Grade Oils, and Dairy products.

CVI has six terminals that primarily handle liquid sweeteners.  These are located in Cedar Rapids, IA, Columbus, NE, Dayton, OH, Marshall, MN, Renville, MN, and Wahpeton, ND.   Many of the loads place our trucks all over the country.  This provides opportunities to service customer nationwide.

CVI is also involved in the transportation of food grade oils.  Food grade oils are primarily hauled with the trucks based at our Mankato, MN terminal.  CVI hauls a variety of other tanker products under this product classification.

CVI started this company with dairy route trucks.  The company has stayed close to its roots. CVI has a number of different milk routes running out of the Dawson, MN terminal.  

CVI also does over the road transportation of other products. Some of the other tanker products the CVI is involved in include ice cream mix, fruit juices, and other dairy related products.



Statement of food Safety
Cliff Viessman, Inc. is dedicated to the safe, efficient, timely transport of edible food products.  To ensure that the objective is met, all personnel are trained in proper food handling techniques and informed of their role in providing a safe product to the customer.  All concerned parties will be advised of all HACCP policies along with customer and governmental rules, regulations and policies.  Cliff Viessman, Inc. will also construct and maintain facilities in a fashion that is of food grade quality, and also maintain them in such a way as to provide for safe product handling and transport.



Reefer

Cliff Viessman, Inc. has been involved in the reefer industry for many years.  This was the first venture outside the realm of milk route trucks.  CVI has two terminals dedicated to reefer freight.  They are Dawson, MN and Paynesville, MN.  Cheese and cheese products are the major commodities hauled out of these terminals.  Our service area includes the Central and Midwest portions of the country.

The Marshall, MN and Columbus, NE terminals are positioned near corn processing plants.  One of the by-products from the processing of corn is feed.  Feed is used primarily as feed additive for bovine animals.  CVI has a number of trucks between the two terminals.  Some of these run 24 hours a day.  The trucks running 24 hours have different shifts allowing drivers more driving options. These trailers are called "live bottom".  They utilize a belt/chain combination to unload the feed out the rear of the trailer.  All feed trucks are day cabs, which places drivers at home every day.

Pneumatic

CVI has pneumatic or blower trailers that are primarily used for the transporting of dry products.  The most common products CVI hauls are dry sugar and Cornstarch.  These trucks are based out the Columbus, NE, Marshall, MN, and Renville, MN terminals.  These facilities haul primarily in the central and Midwest parts of the country. 

Food Grade Tanker Washes

CVI has seven food grade tanker wash stations.  All facilities are designed for food grade washes and are Kosher approved.  CVI understands the importance of documentation and food safety.  CVI has HACCP and GMP programs at all locations with food safety a top priority.
